PC Hackers
Though there are a lot of advantages of working with a PC at home, one of the main disadvantages is the lack of security. While a company can afford to build a secure network since the cost is distributed over multiple employees, for a single user, the cost is prohibitive , especially if the internet connection is used only for a few hours every day.
Some of the methods to deter hackers and improve computer security are:
- Reduce your internet usage to the minimum - connect to the internet only when it is really required
- Connect to the internet for a very short period of time , 5 to 10 minutes at the most
- The hackers usually follow a fixed schedule and are active during a particular period in the day. So do not switch on your PC at that time.
